This was an experiment in an alternative way to design and build a city council website for Birmingham.
Development has now moved to DIY Council - applying the DIY idea to every council in the UK.

Our Children’s Social Care Service is responding to the challenge of improvement; transformation is underway, which will sustain recent improvements in performance outcomes and practice standards.

Achieving impressive outcomes for our 250,000 children and young people is at the heart of our ambitions and to do this we know we have to train and support our staff well. Members’ scrutiny is high and so has been our investment.

How to Apply

A position as Head of Service is available with responsibility for our leaving care, disability and residential services. You will be an excellent leader of a service that is improving. You will shape policies, training and support for front line staff and managers that enables them to manage young peoples’ behaviour well and implement care plans that return them to the community or into independence. You will also engage effectively with partner agencies and corporate colleagues and take participation to another level. Are you ready for the challenge?
